I HAVE A DEPOSIT ON HOLD FROM 2020, HOW DO I USE IT? If you have a deposit on hold you have THREE options...
We can apply your deposit from 2020 to a 2021 class, just request in writing through email or mail.
Place another deposit for 2021 classes and we will use your deposit from 2020 to pay down your balance when you check in for your class. This would be greatly appreciated as our funds are getting low without students here this year.
Purchase a Gift Certificate from us to pay off your class/classes, you will receive $20 off if you pay for the entire class upfront (valid for lodging students only). The card will be good for 3 years (we are offering this option incase the virus is still an issue in 2021). To qualify for the discount you must purchase the gift card for a minimum of $325.
IF I SIGNED UP FOR A CLASS THIS YEAR AND IT WAS CANCELED WILL I AUTOMATICALLY BE PUT IN THAT CLASS FOR 2021?
No...we are sorry but our system will not allow us to do this. Classes for 2020 get removed when the 2021 classes are added. We had over 1400 students signed up this year and it would be too difficult to track everyone by hand with only part time admin working at this time.
DO I GET PRIORITY IF I SIGNED UP FOR A CLASS IN 2020 AND I WANT THE SAME CLASS IN 2021?
Again we apologize, but it would be impossible to do this as our classes have changed dates, some teachers are not teaching next year and class sizes have changed. We recommend signing up online at 10am on the 12th of October if you want a specific class.
IF I MAIL MY APPLICATION IN WILL I GET PRIORITY OR BE ENTERED INTO MY CLASS BEFORE REGISTRATION STARTS?
We will start entering mail-in applications on registration day in the order we receive them. We recommend using online registration if you are trying to get into a class that fills up quickly. We cannot take responsibility for the mail arriving in a timely manner right now.
Our deepest condolences to the Monroe family, Don past away on Tuesday. Besides teaching silver classes for years he was a WHS fixture at Thursday night auctions. He and his wife Ann taught at our School as well as at Wild Acres. He was a past president of the Federation and wrote columns for the Lodestar.

Paul Roberts will be officiating a graveside funeral on Friday October 2nd at Meadow View Cemetery at 2pm and visitation will be on Thursday October 1st from 6 to 8pm at Mountain View Funeral Home. Please keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.
We would like to congratulate Nancy English on her retirement from the Board of Directors and as an instructor at William Holland. We are so grateful for all of her support through the years. If you were lucky enough to take one of her classes, you know this woman with her big Kentucky smile has a heart of gold and a passion to teach. Please know you are missed so much by all who attend...we wish you nothing but happiness and good health. Thank you for all you have done for our wonderful school, we are truly grateful and blessed to have your support!
We would like to welcome and congratulate Vickie Prillaman as the newest William Holland board member. Vickie has been a loyal supporter of the school by teaching silver classes for 23 years as well as building Mary Lous teacher housing with her husband Harry Prillaman. Welcome Vickie we are excited to have you on the board!
As our country is in great controversy over whether to open back up to normal activities, the school must consider what is right for our community. In Georgia we have opened some businesses with strict social distancing requirements and the 65+ age group, along with those with a compromised immune system are still on a stay at home order until further notice. The board and I have discussed every situation that happens in a normal week here at William Holland and have all come to the same conclusion that we cannot keep our students, instructors and staff safe in our environment during this health crisis. It is with great sadness that I must notify everyone that we will NOT be opening for the 2020 school season. The health and wellness of all our students and instructors is and will always remain our first priority.
Here are some of the factors that helped us make this difficult decision
Instructors not able to get supplies needed for their classes, or costs are just too high during this time
Buildings do not allow for the required 6 feet social distancing
Cafeteria will not accommodate social distancing even with splitting into two shifts
Classrooms are meant to have a close intimate feeling, we share equipment, tools as well as huddle for student demos
Sanitation supplies are in short demandI have been trying since early March to get hand sanitizer stations installed through out the school with no luck, still on waiting list from suppliers. Toilet paper, paper towels and masks are still in short supply.
Students who are enrolled in classes will be emailed with two options for their deposits. Due to the large number of student enrollment we are not able to return deposits at this time. If you would like your deposit or fees paid in full returned please email your request and we will work with you on an individual basis. Thank you for understanding and working with us during this difficult time!

We will be using this time wisely to develop our new website and build our social marketing campaign. Katie and I will be bringing some weekly fun to our FB page including a live auction starting the week of May 18th so keep your eye out for more details. We will also be focused on our 2021 season getting the catalog out early and an earlier registration date. Mike C is working hard updating classrooms and the grounds as much as possible during this time. Corie is handling all of our registration matters.
We are so grateful for all of students and instructors who have been so generous and patient with us during this time. We are truly a wonderful community of friends and family!

...Our deepest condolences to the family of Bill Heath who passed away on April 7th from extended health issues. Join us in sending healing wishes and prayers to his two sons, daughter and beautiful wife Vivian. As many of you know Vivian has been part of the William Holland family from almost the beginning serving as an Instructor and Board Member for many years. Bill joined us on Tuesday nights for dinner as his wife always volunteered her time for the weekly auction...he was such a kind soul and we will miss his presence here at the school. They were such a beautiful couple, always celebrating with us for their anniversary by supplying cake to all the students and staff.

Both ladies graduated from Young Harris College with marketing degrees, they are super sweet and full of energy! They are excited for school to start and get to know everyone...this is going to be a GREAT year!
