Basketry I - Alma Lambert
Baskets made this session will be a cathead basket, a casserole basket, a teacup basket and a napkin basket. The cathead basket starts out with a square base and ends up round at the top. Turned upside down, it resembles the head of a cat. It is a purely decorative basket. The hearth basket holds pine cones, kindling, yarn or magazines. The teacup basket is for tea bag storage and is a giant teacup. The napkin basket is decorated in overlays and will be made last so you can incorporate new techniques learned during the week. Shaping, twining and other techniques tips and tricks will be taught. All tools will be furnished. Lab fee covers all materials needed for the class and a twenty-page booklet of weaving techniques.

Basketry I - Joan Stoneham
Nothing is as spectacular as a hand-crafted basket designed and woven by you, which is both useful and artistic. Elevate the ordinary basket with various shapes, sizes, colors, and textures of your choice. Flat reed and round reed in various colors and sizes, canes, cords, fibers, and naturals will be available to you. Multiple weaving techniques and an array of materials ensures no two baskets will be alike. Absolutely no previous experience necessary. Lab fee covers use of all tools, basket scissors, lashers, packers, spray bottles, basins, towels, sponges, tape measures, clothes pins, electrical ties, crimpers, and several scarves, as well as folders including Joan's original patterns and various handouts of braiding and weaving techniques to enhance your baskets. Also included is use of different tones of basket spray to finish your basket and achieve a professional appearance.

Basketry I - Lorraine Garcia
This class is for the beginning student. Award-winning instructor Lorraine Garcia teaches basket making and so much more. Learn different weaves and techniques to make stylish, fun, and functional baskets that really stand out. You will create four different types of baskets using hand-dyed reed to enhance their beauty. Basket styles vary every year. All supplies and tools needed to create these wonderful baskets are supplied but remember to bring is your enthusiasm.

Basketry Pine Needle Basket-I - JoElla Manning
For the beginning student and as your skills allow, you will create at least one to two unique and beautiful, small to medium sized basket(s). You will learn all steps and stages necessary for continuing the craft at home. Three stitches will be explored: the curve, the straight and the wheat. Two beading techniques: the Janie and the Mariposa, optional windows and handles and much more will be covered. The lab fee includes all materials allowing you to mix and match your design and color choices of center, beads, thread and pine needles. Additional materials are available for purchase.

Basketry-Miniature Basket Necklaces - Stoneham Green
These wearable mini baskets are created by twinning with #4 waxed linen, incorporating a little accent color and beads adds pizzazz to your artistic basket.
Lab fee includes many choices of colored waxed linen packets, handouts, original patterns, needles and thread.Beads will be for sale at additional cost.
Please bring small sharp scissors and an optivisor.

Basketry-Pine Needle Baskets II - JoElla Manning
Building upon the necessary skills learned in PNB-I, we will learn three additional stitches: the ti, the fern and my signature stitch, the half and half. We will cover expansion of the center, free-form coiling, the focal bead and the basket as sculpture. Design concepts and considerations will be emphasized. The lab fee includes all materials allowing you to select and inter-play dyed pine needles, center, thread and beads for your week long creation. You are free to expand upon the basics learned in PNB-I, or develop a sculptural project during PNB-II. Additional materials are available for purchase. You may include your own materials as desired.
