Kat Firor  Colque

Kat is an herbalist and metal smith who lives in Columbus Ohio with her husband, animals and plant collection. Mostly self-taught, Kat has been involved in jewelry design almost her entire life, and has been teaching metal and wire techniques for five years. Currently she works as a jewelry designer and teacher, traveling to conventions and retreats to teach metal smith techniques and sells at art shows, shops, and galleries.
Kats work is inspired by her interest in cultural anthropology and love of nature, as well as her work as a community herbalist and wild forager. She attempts to create collections with meaning, symbolism and hand fabricated metal versions of the plants she collects hiking and foraging.
