William Holland offers a set of facilities, including dormitories; a cafeteria; a campground; and classrooms, where volunteer instructors can teach classes in these fields (the "Services").

Failure to do so will result in the rejection of your registration.
In order to be registered for Services, you must submit an Application and go through the Registrar. You should not contact an instructor directly to reserve Services. All Services are subject to available enrollment.
Supply of Services
During your registration process we will take certain steps to help ensure that you obtain the Services you request. These steps include:

In these cases William Holland is committed to making allowances or accommodations in order to provide Services useful to the applicant, within reason. Such allowances or accommodations are at the sole discretion of William Holland.
When filling out the Application it is your obligation to make sure that you supply all information completely and accurately. We cannot make correct accommodations or correctly register you for Services without complete and accurate information. If the information you provided on the Application is wrong or incomplete, it is your responsibility to correct it. Correct physical, dietary, or other accommodations cannot be made if you do not provide all relevant information on each Application you submit. If you provide incorrect or incomplete information on the Application and, because of said inaccuracy or incompleteness, you cannot or do not choose to access the Services then you are not entitled to a refund. Accommodations
As part of the Services provided to you by William Holland, we offer certain Accommodations. These Accommodations include rooms, campsites, limited laundry services, communal television access, and cafeteria style dining.
Dormitories/Campsites
Our dormitories are structured so that they can provide the best service to the widest range of applicants. These rooms usually offer:
- One Standard and one Twin size bed
- Bathing/Restroom Facilities
- Lighting
- Heat/Air Conditioning
Each room is also provided with bed linens, including a blanket and pillow as well as towels and washcloths. Personal toiletry items are not provided. Should you require any additional items, you will need to provide these items yourself. Some rooms may require that you walk or drive a short distance to access other facilities on the William Holland campus.
Campsites are provided with standard hookups for many types of camping equipment. In order to determine if your equipment is suitable, please contact us and make sure to fill in the information about your equipment requested on the Application.
In addition to our dormitories and campsites, you are invited to use local lodging facilities. A short list of such facilities is available upon request.
Due to the constraints of our facilities, it may not be possible for William Holland to offer every person a room in or dormitories or campground. If space is not available, we will notify you so that you can plan accordingly. If space is not available, you will be able to access the Services at a reduced rate (see Commuter rates as stated on the Application).
Limited Laundry Services
We do not provide laundry services for personal items. There are laundromats nearby in Hiawassee and Blairsville.
We do provide laundry services for items provided with your room. In order to take advantage of these services, we ask that you place towels and washcloths in lobby laundry basket cart each Wednesday morning and pick up clean ones from the lobby counter Wednesday afternoon.
Also, before leaving Saturday morning please put all used sheets, pillowcases, towels and washcloths in lobby laundry basket cart.
Communal Televisions
Although we do not offer individual television access in our dormitories, we do provide several locations for you to access communal televisions. These televisions are located in the commons area of Otto's lodge and in the dining room.
Dining
We try very hard to provide meals that the majority of students will enjoy; this means that we do not season our food heavily. If you like well seasoned food, we encourage you to bring your favorite seasonings to add to your food. If you have special dietary concerns, please let us know as soon as possible. We do not specifically offer low-calorie, low fat or sodium-free meals. Because we try to keep our fees as low as possible, we do not have the staff or foods to accommodate unusually demanding diets. In such cases, you may want to provide our kitchen with selections that meet your needs and our staff will prepare your meals. We offer refrigerators for food storage. If you are diabetic or hypoglycemic, we offer sugar-free desserts. We also have a full salad bar and other vegetarian offerings for most meals.
Please advise kitchen personnel when you intend to miss a meal as this helps us control waste and keep the cost of tuition down.
Please note that, although we provide refrigerators for your access, the kitchen and all kitchen equipment are for access by staff or other authorized personnel only. We ask that you not take glassware, utensils, dishes or food out of the cafeteria facilities.
Meals
Meals are provided as scheduled below.

William Holland provides all equipment necessary for classes, except in advanced classes, where students should have their own tools. Instructors provide sufficient supplies to sell for students to complete class projects. The lab fee for the class normally covers these costs. Some tools and supplies are made available for your purchase through the School store during your stay at William Holland.
Remember: Our instructors have supplies available for most classes. You may want to contact your instructor about any tools you may need to bring or to inquire about the appropriateness of any tools or tones you may want to use in class. Charges
The fees assessed on you by William Holland for the use of the Services fall into three categories:
- Deposit Payments
- Balance Payments
- Incidental Charges
Deposit Payments are the payment required to complete your registration. This is a certain percent of the amount of the full fee for the Services and is required to ensure that you actually mean to utilize the services.
Balance Payments are required at the time you Check-In at William Holland. These are the remainders of the fees for the Services after your Deposit Payment has been accepted.
Incidental Charges are charges incurred by you when you purchase Goods from William Holland or participate in the Tuesday Night Auction. During your stay, you may run a tab of Incidental Charges, however, you must pay these charges in full before you leave.
Other charges or fees may apply to all or part of the Services. These charges are normally assessed by individual instructors to cover the cost of materials or by sellers in the Thursday night auction. You are required to pay these charges in a timely manner just as if they were charges assessed on you by William Holland. Nonpayment of any charges or fees from any party in connection with the Services will be considered a violation of William Holland's policies and be grounds for immediate dismissal and denial of future services.
For a complete schedule of fees, contact us, or refer to the fee schedule on the Application.
Refunds/Cancellations/Holds
Should you need to cancel your class we can move you to another class or, if you desire, you can receive a partial refund of your deposit provided you notify us at least three weeks prior to the date of your class. After this date, no refunds will be given.
In the event that you do not want or are not entitled to a refund, we may be able to place your deposit "on hold". When your deposit is placed "on hold", that means that we will allow you to apply that deposit toward the fees for taking another class within the current season or during the following season. After that, all deposits on hold are considered forfeit.
If you are not present at check-in and you do not notify us that you need to cancel a class, your deposit will be considered a generous donation. William Holland also reserves the right to deny you future access to the Services.
Variation in Services
Should you need to change the Services for which you have applied or need to change your Accommodations, William Holland will do our best, within reason, to alter the Services or Accommodations to meet your needs. Such changes are at the sole discretion of William Holland and are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you need to request a variation in the Services please consult with our staff at Check-In.
William Holland reserves the right to make changes to the Services at any time and for any reason, with or without notice, when such changes are necessary to comply with safety or statutory requirements or when such changes are deemed by William Holland not to materially affect the nature or quality of the Services.
Children at William Holland
In order for any child of adolescent to be accepted by William Holland, they must first obtain the approval of our staff and of the instructor of the course they wish to take. In general, it is the policy of William Holland not to admit any child under the age of 12 unless that student is enrolling in a class designed for a younger age group.
If accepted they will be attending classes that are designed for adults and will be required to exhibit maturity and be able to operate in the same capacities as their adult classmates. They will be required to follow all rules, guidelines, policies, etc. applied to their adult classmates.
Currently, there are only two classes offered by instructors at William Holland that are designed for children and adolescents. These are Jr. Rockhounds, which is open for ages 8 to 12, and Wire I, Middle School, which is open to adolescents ages 11 to 14.
For more information about applying as the sponsor for a Child, please see our Privacy Policy and contact us.
